Contest

Well, for a fact I don't know if I want to enter this contest. The orthodox youth is having a writting/arts contest.
My Mom says I should enter. But I don't know if I should. I know I probably won't win. I am not a very talented person.
But I would like to get others opinions on this.

HANNAH!!!! you have to enter the contest.

you have so much potential, and are already very gifted as a writer.

sure, you are young and have much to learn, but for you to think you are not talented is not realistic. you have a particularly keen eye for detail, it reminds me of Annie Dillard.

anyways. do it. do it. you must. ( I am in grad school, and now one of your youth leaders, so you have a double obligation to listen..., but I just pulled rank and modelled unhumility, so I lose one influence point, so I still have one. do it)

please. you must.

Yeah, also I have orange and so that means you have to write. it just how things go. like gravity. I didn't make it this way, but since I have orange hair that means you have to enter. Also I like your writing, Rufus. So why not go for it?

i agree with Dave. you should enter Hannah. it isn't about winning it, but about creating something new, something you work hard for and something you are proud of. and who knows...maybe you will win! you have a gift for writing and if my opinion matters then i think you should do it.

Totally go for it!

Myn's right. Even if for some reason you don't "win," it will still be a very worthwhile experience.

Hannah, please enter this contest! I would LOVE to read what you write for it. It will be such a good experience for you; whether you get a formal prize or not, it's a win-win situation. Your writing skills (which are amazing and God-given talent) will be polished in the process, and those around you will be edified in reading what you write.

I really hope that you enter :) And I hope you post your entry so that I can read it too :)

naw, these folks are wrong. don't do it hannah. you might lose, you might not win. and could you bear it, could you live with yourself if you just tried your best and didn't win??? on that note, just give up completely on anything and don't bother trying anything new ever... find a rock and stay safe under it your whole life :p
